Windows 7 to Ship in Fall and Spring
First of all, let me say I think it’s f–king stupid when people make announcements using seasons — especially since, half the planet is different from the other. So, it maybe Fall in the US, well it’ll be Spring for us in Australia.
Secondly, Engadget are reporting that Ray Chen, president of Taipei-based Compal Electronics, was quoted as saying that “according to current planning,” Windows 7 should be on its machines by “late September or early October.”

Microsoft Confirms Windows 7 RC drops April 10th, 2009
“In an exclusive interview with the guys at Neowin.net, Microsoft have confirmed, that provided no serious problems arise, they are on track to release Windows 7 RC on April 10. As yet the only changes which are known about, are User Account Control (UAC) fixes which prevent malware from disabling UAC all together.”

Of course, they still want you to buy Vista — no really, they do. Reason that want you to is money and more money when you “have” to upgrade to Windows 7. Vote with your wallet people — wait.
MS readies RC1
“News has come down the grapevine that Microsoft has already branched off winmain and started compiling RC1 branch builds, no doubt preparing for the public release of Windows 7 RC.”
